At today’s All-Staff meeting, we welcomed employees who are new to the Division of Student Success and recognized four employees with the first ever Pillars of Excellence Awards. In addition, we also named winning offices for the first ever awards for Excellence in Assessment.
Pillars of Excellence are awarded to staff who exemplify Aggie Core Values and consistently live the mission of empowering, engaging, and guiding students. Employees can demonstrate their Pillar-ness by presenting at a conference, or intervening to solve a student problem. They might demonstrate leadership or suggest a process improvement. What are Aggie Core Valuers? The first 5 people who send an email to vpss@nmsu.edu correctly naming the Aggie Core Values will be invited to share a lunch at Taos Cafeteria with Vice President Renay Scott.
Winners of the first-ever Pillars award are:
- Empower Award: Julian Moreno, Student Engagement
- Engage Award: Krystal Espinoza and Gabrielle Martinez, with University Student Records
- Guide Award: Bruce Vandevender, Student Assistance Services
We also recognized three teams for Excellence in Assessment:
- People’s Choice Poster Award: University Financial Aid and Scholarship Services
- People’s Choice Poster Award: Student Conduct and Community Standards
- Excellence for an Assessment Project: Campus Tutoring
Please congratulate our awards winners and give an Aggie Welcome to new staff!
