Thousands expected to pack the Pan Am for weekend celebrations!

Nearly 900 students and thousands of their loved ones will pack the Pan American Center at Commencement ceremonies this weekend. Students earning undergraduate degrees are celebrated at Saturday’s morning ceremony, and graduate students earning master’s and doctoral degrees will be on the stage tonight.  Nearly 1,300 students have applied for degrees this semester from NMSU Las Cruces campus and NMSU-Online.

These ceremonies are an important milestone for students, and they are also significant endeavors for all the staff who work behind the scenes to make them happen. Chief among these staff are those from the University Student Records Office. They coordinate with Special Events and the Pan Am Center, all the Colleges, the offices of the Chancellor, Provost, and Regents, Facilities and Services, NMSU Police, Sodexo and many others. At the end of a long Commencement weekend, it is thanks to their work that we have sent yet another class of students into their futures, capped with the memories a stellar commencement weekend.
