NMSU entering class the largest in over a decade!

You’re one reason why NMSU has its largest first-year class in more than a decade.

For the first time since 2010, NMSU has an entering freshman class that is greater than 2,300 students.  This increase is more than 300 students (about 15%) above the fall 2021 entering class.  Contributing to the overall main campus enrollment increase of over 2% are increases in first-time, full-time retention and an increase in readmitted students of 64% over last year. We are also celebrating increases in the 4-, 5-, and 6-year graduation rates.

The numbers are preliminary, and official numbers will be ready soon. But thanking staff is important before the numbers are official because every single person in the Division of Student Success has contributed to this achievement. Every staff member – including student employees – contributes to student success at NMSU. Every time you smile in welcome, plan an event, return a phone call or an email, schedule an appointment, mentor, assist a student, or do whatever your job calls for, you contribute to the success of students. Thank you:  your service makes a difference.

More information about the census enrollment will be available soon.

A final note: At the All-Staff Meeting on Friday, September 23 (8:30 am in 109 Domenici Hall), we will continue our conversation about traditions. Read more about this in last week’s Leadership Insights!
