The University Registrar is an ex-officio member of various councils and committees and, in that capacity, advises administration, faculty and staff on academic procedural matters. The Registrar does not create policy, but does interpret, implement and enforce policies and regulations as defined by the Board of Regents, university administration, Associate Deans Academic Council (ADAC), Faculty Senate, state and federal governing agencies, and the university’s accrediting agency (HLC).

Academic records custodian for NMSU system, admissions processing, annual catalog publication, curriculum maintenance, course and academic space scheduling (Ad Astra), maintenance of transfer credit equivalency tables, term registration set-up, grade processing, academic probation notification, New Mexico and National Clearinghouse reporting, degree audit system maintenance, issuance of official transcripts and enrollment verifications, residency determinations, and NCAA certification.
