MVP Director, Jacobo Varela accepting service award from Warren Johnson and Fred Madrid.
- Military and Veterans Program: At a Farewell Reception on January 28th Jacobo Varela, Director of Military Veteran Program was presented with an award for his service by Warren Johnson, President of the Las Cruces Shrine Club and Fred Madrid from Las Cruces DAV Chapter 38. After a total of fifteen years as a student and employee at NMSU, Jacobo is leaving at the end of the month to direct the TRIO Veteran Upward Bound Program at Colorado State University-Pueblo. The Military and Veterans Program is currently conducting a national search for Director of the program.
- Counseling and Student Development: In an effort to assist the NMSU community, the Aggie Cupboard has moved to Regents Row room B114. The Aggie Cupboard is a resource to provide free emergency food assistance to the NMSU community, including Las Cruces and DACC students, faculty, and staff. - Higher Learning Commission Planning: On Thursday, January 28th Bernadette Montoya participated in the various planning sessions for the upcoming reaffirmation of accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC).
