The Annual SAEM Staff Picnic was held on Friday, October 23 to celebrate NMSU’s homecoming. Sodexo catered hamburgers and hot dogs, while employees enjoyed spending time with one another. The annual SAEM Staff Recognition award was given to Lorraine Ortega from Admissions, Sookie Cordero from Employee Health Services, and Mani Chinnasami from Student Information Management.

Dr. Montoya attended the monthly conference call for the APLU Council on Student Affairs on Thursday, October 22 to discuss the upcoming 2015 APLU Annual Meeting in November. Dr. Montoya serves as co-chair for the council.

The Arrowhead Early College High School Picnic was held on Thursday, October 22. Dr. Montoya welcomed 170 guests to the picnic where students and their families were able to meet with DACC Admissions, NMSU Admissions, the DACC Dual Credit office, and the NMSU Financial Aid office.

The NMSU Graduation Fair was held October 13 and 14 at the NMSU Barnes and Noble Bookstore. Over the course of two days, 580 graduating students participated in the event. Students were given the opportunity to purchase their announcements, regalia, photos, and reserve their seat for Commencement.

On Saturday, October 17, Lambda Chi hosted their annual “Watermelon Bust”, a philanthropy event to support Feeding America. The chapter raised over 1,172 pounds of food and had nearly 100 fellow students participate.
