Siiri Rogers, Director of Student Information Management (SIM), presented on enhancements to the New Student Registration systems that help prospective students register for an Orientation Program.

Dr. Montoya met with the SAEM Conference Committee made up of SAEM staff volunteers on Tuesday, March 31 to discuss the planning of a summer conference. The summer conference will help support our work for student recruitment and retention, and also be an opportunity for professional staff development.

Met with Denni Cheney, the President and CEO of The Bridge of SNM on Tuesday, March 31 to discuss NMSU Office of Admissions’ involvement in support of a June conference with various public and early college high schools throughout the state. We are looking forward to our collaboration with The Bridge of SNM to connect with high school students.

Attended “The Power of Not Yet” Retreat on Thursday, April 2 hosted by Executive Vice President and Provost Dan Howard. Dr. Montoya and attendees engaged in meaningful dialogue related to diversity and inclusiveness on our campus.

Student Engagement, Dr. Terry Cook

The Aggie Welcome Team met with Academic Advisors on Monday, March 30 to review Banner New Student Registration Reservation and Check-In System, as well as Cognos reports, in preparation for the first Orientation session on April 23 and 24.

Diversity Programs

On Tuesday, March 31, Chicano Programs with University Admissions and American Indian Programs made presentations to a group of TRIO students visiting from the UNM Taos campus.

On Thursday, April 2, Mari Tellez and Erica Enriquez gave a presentation on Preparing for College to high school students in the La Semilla program from the Gadsden school district..
