On September 10, about two dozen SAEM employees attended the first presentation arranged by the SAEM Professional Development Committee. The presentation, “Avoiding Burnout and Time Management” was led by Del Suggs, a noted Leadership Development trainer and author, was named “Best Campus Speaker” by the Association for the Promotion of Campus Activities (APCA).
Del gave advice on how to recognize burnout and regain the joy in your life and work. His tips were:
- Be grateful
- Set personal goals
- Have a morning ritual
- Manage your time
- Eat that frog
- Stay healthy
- Stay connected to family and friends
- If all else fails, get a new job.
